Russia strongly condemns terrorist bombing in Jaramana

August 07, 2013 – Moscow, (SANA-H. Said)- Russia expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist bombing which took place in the city of Jaramana in Damascus Countryside Tuesday and claimed the lives of 18 people and caused injury to scores of others, including children.

“Russia strongly condemns the new terrorist operation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued Wednesday, noting that this operation is the second that is carried out in densely populated areas in the last two weeks.

The statement added that extremists, while forced to retreat before the government forces, are trying through these acts to take revenge against unarmed civilian citizens so as to spread panic and chaos in a bid to escalate violence in the country.

“We once again urge all the countries and parties with influence on the extremists in Syria to commit those to immediately put an end to the terrorist attacks and armed violence in Syria,” it added.

The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed the Russian government’s condolences to the victims’ families and its wishes of speedy recovery for the injured.
