UN Admits It Didn’t Ask for Access in Syria Until Saturday ~ "Rebels Used Sarin Nerve Gas, Not Assad’s Army"

Secretary Kerry openly FLAT OUT LIES to the American people in an attempt to try to make a case for for an attack on Syria. However polls all over America are showing more Americans are not buying it, and up to 69% are AGAINST an attack by the USA.

A rundown of Secretary Kerry “propaganda and flat out lies.”

John Kerry stated yesterday: “I spoke on Thursday with Syrian Foreign Minister Muallim and I made it very clear to him that if the regime, as he argued, had nothing to hide, then their response should be immediate — immediate transparency, immediate access – not shelling. Their response needed to be unrestricted and immediate access. Failure to permit that, I told him, would tell its own story.

“Instead, for five days, the Syrian regime refused to allow the UN investigators access to the site of the attack that would allegedly exonerate them.

Instead, it attacked the area further, shelling it and systematically destroying evidence. That is not the behavior of a government that has nothing to hide. That is not the action of a regime eager to prove to the world that it had not used chemical weapons. In fact, the regime’s belated decision to allow access is too late, and it’s too late to be credible. Today’s reports of an attack on the UN investigators, together with the continued shelling of these very neighborhoods, only further weakens the regime’s credibility.”

On Thursday, Reuters reported: “The United Nations demanded Syria give its chemical weapons experts immediate access on Thursday to rebel-held Damascus suburbs where poison gas appears to have killed hundreds just a few miles from the UN team’s hotel.”

In fact, according to an exchange at a news conference at the UN today, the UN did not make a formal request of the Syrian government until Saturday and the Syria government responded positively the next day.

Lee covers the UN for Inner City Press. He just wrote: “Much is being made of the Syrian government’s delay in granting the UN’s request for its chemical weapons inspection team to visit al Ghouta.

“Inner City Press asked UN spokesperson Farhan Haq at Tuesday’s noon briefing when it was that the UN formally requested access to al Ghouta — on Saturday, August 24 or before? Video here [at 12:00].

“Haq read out a press statement from August 22, in which Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said a request is being sent. Then, Haq said, Ban’s High Representative on Disarmament Angela Kane ‘stepped forward with the request’ — on August 24, Saturday.

“It was granted the next day.

“Inner City Press asked again, was there any formal request by the UN other than Ban’s press statement, before August 24? Haq called this ‘semantics.’ But when Inner City Press asked Ban to respond to widely circulated press releases about a request being made to him, the UN says the actual request has not been received yet.”

He said today: “It’s like everyone is telling Syria to let the police in, but the police didn’t knock on the door. The Syrian government can’t fulfill a request before it’s made. We don’t know what Syria would have said if the request was done on Thursday, but Kerry’s claim that they Syrians delayed is without merit. This episode does not make one question the Syrian ‘regime’s credibility’ as Kerry claims, but rather that of the U.S. and UN.”

“Why was the UN so slow and sloppy? Why has Secretary General Ban Ki-moon not even stood up for the safety of UN personnel inside Syria? These questions remain unanswered.”

Syrian Rebels Used Sarin Nerve Gas, Not Assad’s Army

Testimony from victims now strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin Nerve Gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior UN diplomat said Monday.

Carla del Ponte, a member of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.

But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons (CW), according to the BBC, she added that more investigation was needed.

Damascus is facing growing Western accusations that its forces used such weapons, which US President Obama has described as crossing a Red Line. But Ms. del Ponte’s remarks may serve to shift the focus of international concern.

  1. This is nothing short of WWIII Axes Operation Barbarossa- only this time it will begin in Syria but the fir will spread very quickly. The Europeans it seems cannot say no to the U.S. warmongering class. in turn the U.S. driven by the dictates of Saudi Arabia and in Israel. I have a distinct feeling that if the Americans do not pull back this will quickly lead to a catastrophe. I believe it is the moral to duty of Russia to do everything possible to make strike against Syria less possible.

  2. Many experts have suspected that the aggressive rhetoric of against Syria from Washington, Paris and London was designed to in fact prevent a proper, objective, and imperial fact finding investigation to this and the March 2013 chemical attack at Aleppo area town. Now, Russia has added moral duty to hold the line on Syria and allow the UN experts to do proper investigation. Most critically, Syrian Army must press ahead against the terrorists because as more areas are liberated from the terrorist more evidence of their chemical use will emerge. Two more point: Ban-ki-Moon will do everything within his power to use the UN to help the U.S. achieve its goals. China and Russia know this about mr. Ban-ki-moon. Second, we need stronger statement from Russia that illegal attack on Syria is unacceptable.

  3. It was plainly clear that using of chemical weapons against defenseless Syrian by the terrorists and their allies was the pretext the U.S. France and the UK needed to start a war of aggression against Syria. It is however encouraging that Doctors Without Borders has now stated to share factual stories told them by the victims of the chemical attack. Now the stories of the victims points to John Kerry, Barack Obama and James Cameron and their Al Qaida allies-not the Syrian Arab Army. The Western war rhetoric was in fact a cynical attempt at undermining proper UN investigation. The quicker/faster UN experts such as Carla del Ponte speak up the harder it will be for the warmongering idiots to start a catastrophic war against Syria. We need a proper UN investigation to this chemical attack because it is heinous war crime which has the fingerprint of three of the 5 members of the UNSC- in collusion with the terrorists operating in Syria. This chemical attack must be fully investigated.

  4. When was the haunting image of dead Syrian children neatly covered in uniformly arranged white sheets in which a terrorist in black uniform is hovering over their dead bodies was taken and when was it uploaded to the internet. The exact moment of that image’s entry in the internet is critically important. At present, all available evidence points that it was uploaded in You Tube more than a day before the supposed attack happened. We also know it was not only the event of chemical attack but it formed a part a subsequent chemical attack against Syrians. The event in 21 August is widely reported in the media and was noted by Doctors Without Borders. What is emerging is that the in the You Tube Videos showing dead Syrian children took place at an earlier stage and then a subsequent chemical attack took place. Chemical weapons leave behind lasting and distinct forensic evidence. This evidence is what the U.S. UK and France want to suppress. If Syria is allowed to fall Iran, Russia, Egypt, and other nations will follow. Syria is the red line.

  5. In their WWII historiographies, the Russians often cite the 1938 Munch Accord and the Western appeasement of Hitler that justified the Third Reich’s annexation of Czechoslovakia was the start of WWII. Yet despite losing closer to 30M citizens in WWII, I do not feel that today the Russians are asserting the necessary authoritative language to prevent another catastrophe. How it is possible that despite the UN team of investigators were in Damascus at the time of this alleged chemical attack that the UN did not ask the question whether the Al Qaida terrorists fighting Syrian giverment might have used chemical weapons until Saturday- 4 days after the event happened? How can the Russian be ensure the current UN investigation in this event will not be used to frame Syria and allow the most grave event- a war of aggression to commence? Why is Putin silent at this critical moment?

  6. For me, the most intriguing point is that that despite the fact the majority of those fighting against the government of Assad are Al Qaida linked terrorists, Russia and China have failed to make this fact- the presence of large number of terrorists inside Syria, the centre point of any discussion about the crisis in Syria. This failure will come to bit Russia in particular when the terrorists relocate themselves into Russia’s North Caucasus soon after Syria

  7. I have already left number of comments in this blog . still, I do want to add at least one more. The U.S. and two former colonial powers-France and the UK- are so desperate to attack Syria that they may reach a point from which they might not be able to pull back.
Ironically, the Western warmongering leaders speak as though attacking Syria is a walk in the park: 50 targets and two day strike and then everything goes back to normal! Their hope is attacking Syria will help the terrorists gain the upper hand; no discussion that the West is in an openly alliance with Al Qaida against the indepedent nation of Syria.
As a result, today we have a world in which 3 members of the UNSC are in alliance with Al Qaida and other terror groups against a sovereign nation. Western media has not been asking how the West came to be in open alliance with Al Qaida nor has there been any discussion any potential repercussions as a result of Western Syria. In reality, the U.S has not attacked any country with the military capability and moral spirit of Syria: strong nation with strong alliance as Syria- since WWII. Yet, Obama is willing to start a war against Syria on the basis of lies. Good thing is it seems some British MPs are putting break to this madness.
