Information Minister, Omran al-Zoubi : Accusing Syrian government of using chemical weapons mere lies
August 6, 20`13 – (Syrian Breakingnews) – Information Minister, Omran al-Zoubi, stressed that reports broadcast repeatedly by some news agencies and TV channels from Arab and foreign countries on the issue of chemical weapons use by the Syrian government are mere lies and groundless fabrications.
In a phone call with the Syrian TV on Monday, al-Zoubi said that even if Syria had chemical weapons, it would not use them because of the moral values and the national principles of the Syrian leadership and the Syrians in general.
He added that Syria requested investigation into Khan al-Assal crime when the armed terrorist groups used the chemical weapons there, and Syria invited the international investigation committee and it is cooperating with it.
Al-Zoubi noted that the accusations against the Syrian government in this regard are condemned and they come within the framework of fabrications campaign which was initiated two and a half years ago.
“We categorically deny that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons in the Syrian territories,” al-Zoubi said.
The Minister pointed out that whenever an international occasion or meeting took place, the armed terrorist groups would commit massacres in an attempt to stir up the public opinion against the Syrian state and people.
He added that the armed terrorist groups committed during the past days several massacres, pointing out that the government is documenting these massacres through collecting details, data and information.
The Minister said that the Syrian armed forces are fulfilling their duties and the Syrian diplomacy is moving positively and in every direction, and the Syrian media is exposing the coward and treacherous acts of the armed groups.
